School Planetarium Lessons

Planetarium lessons are given for schools throughout the school year (August - May), Monday – Friday @ 9:30 am / 10:45 am / 12:30 pm. The lessons are aligned with the Georgia Standards of Excellence and are approximately 45 minutes to an hour in length depending on grade level. Each lesson includes a tour of the current night sky with our iconic Zeiss planetarium star projector and a presentation using our new state of the art digital projector which creates a stunning full-dome immersive environment, while guiding students through the wonders of the universe.

DeKalb teachers please contact the Fernbank liaison at your school for scheduling information.

Non-Dekalb teachers please call 678-874-7113 or email Audrey_Poole@dekalbschoolsga.org for reservations.

The price for non-DeKalb County students is $4.00 per student during the school year (August - May). For each fifteen students one teacher or adult chaperone will be admitted without charge. All other adults beyond this number will be charged $5.00.

During the summer (June and July) we ask that groups larger than 50 contact our scheduler at 678-874-7113. If your group is smaller than 50, then you do not need to contact the scheduler. There are no group discounts during the summer months. Adults (ages 19-61) $7.00, Students (ages 3-18) $5.00, Seniors (62+) $5.00.
